Tired of Your Crooked Smile? Invisalign Offers a Wonderfully Discreet Solution

Few people’s teeth are completely straight and even, but when a smile is too crooked, it can lead to embarrassment and a lack of self-confidence. The desire to show a happy smile to the world is nothing to do with vanity, and everything to do with feeling more comfortable with yourself and less anxious in social situations. Thankfully, our orthodontist can offer plenty of options for straightening your teeth without the discomfort or embarrassment of traditional techniques. We’re talking about Invisalign®.

Invisalign® is Different

Thankfully, modern braces are a far cry from the bulky devices of old. Whereas traditional braces used visible metal wires and screws to apply the tooth-straightening pressure, newer materials and methods make today’s braces far less conspicuous. The most discreet type of all is known as the Invisalign® system, and it may be perfect for you!

How Does It Work?

Invisalign® takes a different approach. Whereas braces are fitted to the teeth and use continuous gentle pressure to straighten your teeth into better alignment, Invisalign® uses custom-made aligners that are virtually invisible. Thus, they are very discreet and comfortable.

Things to Consider

Although Invisalign® is incredibly effective for discreetly straightening a crooked smile, there are a few things that you should be aware of before deciding to have the treatment. First, although the clear trays are unnoticeable to others, they’re not entirely inconspicuous to the wearer. It can take a while to get used to the feel of them in the mouth.

Also, as with all braces, extra care needs to be taken over oral hygiene while wearing them. But the great thing about Invisalign® is that the aligners can be removed as needed for oral hygiene and other purposes.
