Dr. Bowman is in the Top 10% of Invisalign Providers in the FLorida
Invisalign is a clear way to straighten teeth without braces by using aligners that are nearly invisible. Invisalign successfully treats your misaligned teeth, but without the self-consciousness and embarrassment that traditional metal braces can sometimes cause in those who wear them – especially teenagers who already are dealing with the social and academic pressures that the high school years can bring.
At Bowman Orthodontics in Fort Walton Beach and Niceville, we offer the latest in Invisalign and Invisalign Teen products. Contact Dr. Bowman today to schedule an appointment to see if you or your child are candidates to take part in Invisalign treatments.
Why is Invisalign so popular with patients?
One reason is because the aligners can be removed, and are virtually invisible. That allows you to straighten your teeth without anyone ever knowing!
Another benefit of Invisalign?
You can eat and drink what you want. Since Invisalign is removed when eating or drinking, you don’t have to worry about any dietary restrictions like those that come with braces. In addition, Invisalign allows patients to brush and floss normally. That helps you maintain healthy gums and teeth during treatment.
Another bonus of Invisalign?
There are no wires, metal or brackets that can cause painful mouth abrasions.
At Bowman Orthodontics, many of our patients had never even considered getting traditional braces. But today they are happily and comfortably improving their smiles thanks to Invisalign.
All clear aligners are not alike. Only Invisalign clear aligners are made of SmartTrack material, so they are more comfortable and easier to put on and take off. With Invisalign, you get customized treatment based on years of research and intelligence from millions of patients.
Here is some basic information on what to expect from Invisalign:
- You will likely wear each set of aligners for about two weeks.
- Aligners can be removed, but only to eat, drink, and brush your teeth and floss.
- Your teeth will gradually move each week as Invisalign works its magic.
- You will likely visit Bowman Orthodontics about every four to eight weeks so we can examine you, see how you are doing and make any needed adjustments to treatment.
What’s the best part about Invisalign treatment?
Your total treatment time will last an average of six to 15 months.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign is a modern approach to straightening your teeth. It uses a custom-fit series of aligners created for you – and only you. These plastic aligner trays are smooth, extremely comfortable and just about invisible. You simply wear them over your teeth. Over time, these aligners will gently move your teeth into place.
There is no need to attach metal brackets or any wires to tighten. Just insert your new set of aligners about every two weeks until your treatment is over.
Once the treatment period has ended you will sport a confident smile that everyone would love to have. Again, the BEST part about the Invisalign process is most people will never know you are working to straighten your teeth.
Invisalign is fairly new to the world of orthodontic care.
According to parent company Align Technology, the Invisalign system first became available in 1999. Founded in 1997, Align earned Food and Drug Administration clearance for Invisalign the following year and began commercial sales of Invisalign to orthodontists in America in 1999.
By 2000, Align debuted its U.S. advertising campaign and a year later Invisalign was available in Europe. By the end of 2001, Align had made one million clear aligners. In 2008, Align announced two new treatments: Invisalign Teen and Invisalign Assist.
Align Technology is based in San Jose, Calif., and has offices across the globe. Today, Invisalign is available in nearly 50 countries and has been used by an estimated 1.5 million patients! Invisalign has helped people of all ages around the world achieve better health and great smiles.
